Ram was a sheep which was sent to earth by God Zeus so that it could prevent Phirxos getting sacrificed by his own father King Athamus. But at that very moment ram reached there and saved Phirxos. He then took Phirxos and his sister Helle across the ocean. Their destination was the island of Colchis, but on their something unexpected happened and Helle fell of from the ram and drowned therefore leading to her death. Phirxos then sacrificed ram to please and worship God Zeus.
