It is very common that the parents want to rise up their children in the ways of their religion. Every parent wants their children to follow the principles and rules of their own religion. Christians are not exceptions for this task. Induced by their wish, the Christian parents bring up their children by following some special methods of parenting. This type of parenting is called ‘Christian Parenting’. In fact the Christian parents are afraid of the growing aspects of immorality and they are afraid of the children who act against their parents; they do not like their children do so. They want their children true Christians.
Though the government and child development organizations give voice against forcing the parents’ religion on the children, the Christian parents are not to accept this. They think that the path, which they are following, is the correct one and they want their children also follow the same path. They do not want their children to be put in the hell as Christianity says, people who do not obey the parents and people who are arrogant, boastful and insolent are the wrong doers and they invent ways for doing evil things. In order to lead their children in the path of Christianity, the Christian parents take the top of ‘Christian parenting’ in their hands.
The ‘Christian Parenting’ is done through many ways. One of the ways is to name the children with Christian names. The parents believe that if the children are given the names of the people, who were with Jesus, the children will not deviate from the path of Jesus and they will not act in the ways which are against their name. In Christian parenting, the parents have the habit of teaching bible to the children every day, so that the children will feel close to God and will be Christians. The Christian parents use ‘prayers to God’ also a method of Christian parenting. They ask God to keep their children in the correct way. The parents teach prayers also to the children, and they try it with rhythm also to make the children get interested. The Christian parents share their faith with the children by telling them real-time experiences and examples of how God helped him in particular situation. These parents have the habit of bringing their children to church often. As the parents want to live as an example for the children to lead them, they engage in religious aspects more than they do before. The parents use Christian speeches, holy books and holy videos to improve the religious faith of their children.
This boosting of religious faith through Christian parenting is a good one unless and until the parents make the children as dolls who do all the things that the parents tell and as children who cannot think and judge by themselves. Hatred against the non Christians should not be created in the minds of the children also. As Christianity is against violence, Christian parenting does not do any harm to the society.
