Where are All the Jobs At?

Are you doing some job hunting today? I think that if you are trying to find a job, the best places to look for one is on the internet. Some people find good jobs on craigslist.com and I know that Jobs.com also has some really good jobs on it.

I think that in order to find a good job, you have to be skilled at something. If you are an older person trying to get a job, then I think that it’s best not to set your expectations to high in this slow moving economy. I think that if you want to land a good job, you are going to have to start off slowly and then gradually pick up the pace with a new job. Something that will excite you and make you feels more compelled to landing something good. I think that you have to look at the economical times that we are living in as well as your job skills. I would say that it is safe to accept a job offer that seems reasonable. You don’t want to be too demanding because you may not be able to find a job for many months or even years to come. You also have to take a look at your finances. How much money do you honestly have right now to live on and how long is that going to last you? If you are saying to yourself that you are flat broke and have no money, then it’s to your best interest to find a good job immediately.

You have to look at where the money is. If you are an accountant and searching for work, I would definitely look at grocery stores for work. I say this because they will always be busy and they will always give you the opportunity to use your skills with them. They need accountants to run their stores and believe me; they will always keep you employed. I think that another great place to look for a job is in the online yellow pages. Sometimes you can land a really good job by just searching through the online yellow pages. There you will find lists and lists of companies that can afford to pay for advertising and this tells you that they must be making money. They are not really all that poor. You have to go where the money is and not where you want to be.

All that we hear on the news is how bad the banks are doing. However, they are being given billions of dollars by the United States government. This means that they have money to give you a job with. Don’t listen to the news all day and say, oh the economy just stinks. Be a realist. The money is going into the banking industry and that’s where most of the jobs are at. They are not going to hold up a sign in front of the bank that says, “Help Wanted.” However, it’s clear that the United States do not want to see their major banks going under. In my opinion, if you have anything to do with finances, go and apply to the major banks that the news are saying are so horrible. These are the banks that are getting more money because the government always has money. Our rich Uncle Sam will always have cash to give to the banks that it favors. This spells out more jobs and more growth for the New Year. Just research the money and follow its trail. When you do this that is where you are going to find the job.

For instance, if you just bought something from the store, ask yourself if that place has any job openings. Chances are, they do. I say this because people often flock to the same stores that they have grown to trust. I have never seen an Empty Wal-Mart or an Empty McDonalds. These places always have jobs and lots of customers. You just have to apply and see what happens. You just may land a good job through these sources. You never know.
